SUMMARY:MEET ME AT THE MUSEUM: IMPROV FOR CREATIVITY AND AUTHENTICITY
DESCRIPTION:Want some laughter\, learning\, and lagers? \nLook no further…  \nThe Museum of Art l Fort Collins is running a unique community experience: \n– Tons of games and exercises to unlock authentic creativity\n– Up to 29 other open-minded\, positive people to meet\n– 2 free passes to the MoA’s MASKS exhibit\n– 2 hours of uproarious belly laughs\n– 1 open bar (yes\, really!) \n** Use code “special20” for a discount ** \nCome build soft skills with hard laughs. TICKET LINK HERE \nP.S. Don’t let the word “improv” scare you away. \n– No one is put on the spot\n– No one is needs to be funny\n– No one is performing publicly. \nGus has run sessions like these for years and knows what you’re thinking. So here’s a quick FAQ to answer any questions you have. \nFAQ. \nWho’s Gus?\nGus has been teaching improv for over 9 years. He used to run a 350+ improv community out in Morrisville\, North Carolina. He’s taught 1000s of students and performs locally in Fort Collins with his troupe\, Scam Likely. \nWhat can I expect from attending a session?\nThis beginner-friendly workshop will be 90-120 minutes consisting of short exercises\, warm-ups\, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” type-of games. \nWhat if I’m not quick on my feet?\nYou don’t have to be. In improv\, mistakes become opportunities. The bolder the choice\, the better. You will be celebrated for not being quick on your feet. \nI’m scared.\nGive it one session. Anything worth doing is initially scary. I like to say “You’ve already done the hardest part: fighting traffic to get here. It’s my responsibility as an instructor to make sure the rest of the night goes smoothly for you.” \nI don’t want to perform publicly.\nThis will not be public. This will be a private session. This is “Improv in Private” – where you practice the skills\, just not on stage.

This milestone event marks the fourth location in Fort Collins for Compost Queen and a significant step forward in the company’s mission to provide local composting solutions for the Northern Colorado community. \n\n\n\nCompost Queen\, a woman-owned Public Benefit Corporation\, is dedicated to reducing organic waste\, minimizing emissions\, and enhancing soil health. With a strong focus on education\, innovation\, and community engagement\, Compost Queen aims to create a future where composting is seamlessly integrated into daily life\, powering the circular economy and closing the carbon cycle. \n\n\n\nThe new headquarters\, strategically located in Fort Collins\, aligns with recent updates in Colorado laws for conditionally exempt small quantity facilities for food waste. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology\, including the innovative Covered Aerated Static Pile (CASP) technology from Sustainable Generations\, the facility can efficiently process organic waste while controlling odors and producing high-quality soil amendments. This expanded capacity enables Compost Queen to serve both residential and commercial accounts\, furthering its impact in waste diversion and environmental sustainability. \n\n\n\nThe development of the new facility was made possible in part by a grant from the Front Range Waste Diversion (FRWD) program and expects to divert over 700 tons of material annually from the landfill. This collaboration underscores Compost Queen’s commitment to leveraging partnerships and state initiatives to achieve its climate impact goals and advance towards a zero-waste\, circular economy. \n\n\n\n“We are thrilled to bring our business to North College and serve as an icon of the change we can make to food recycling in Fort Collins\,” said Jamie Blanchard-Poling\, Founder and Chief Queen Officer of Compost Queen. “This facility represents a significant investment in sustainable waste management and underscores our commitment to serving the community while protecting the environment.” \n\n\n\nTo commemorate the occasion\, Compost Queen will host a grand opening event on Sunday\, April 21\, coinciding with Earth Day weekend. The event\, open to Compost Queen food recycling members\, will feature a vendor village showcasing local sustainable goods and community businesses. Attendees can enjoy complimentary food and coffee from Hal’s Coffee\, tour the facility\, and learn about best practices for composting. Additionally\, families are invited to a special screening of “The Lorax” at The Lyric Cinema on Earth Day\, Monday\, April 22\, at 6 PM. \n\n\n\nJoin Compost Queen in celebrating the grand opening of its new headquarters and facility\, and be a part of the movement toward a greener\, more sustainable future. \n\n\n\nFor more information about Compost Queen or to attend the grand opening event\, please contact Max Poling\, Hand of the Queen at (970) 797-2042 or max@compostqueenfc.com

What started as a small construction company quickly grew as word spread about Dohn’s philosophy and approach to the construction process. 31 years later Dohn Construction has flourished\, growing to 60 team members and completing over 15 million square feet of projects. \nEstablished to recognize individuals who embody a steadfast commitment to advocating for free enterprise and better communities through sound economic principles. the David May Advocacy Award was named in honor of former Chamber President & CEO David May.   \nThe Chamber is proud to recognize Sharie Grant as our 2023 David May Advocacy Award winner.
