SUMMARY:MEET ME AT THE MUSEUM: IMPROV FOR CREATIVITY AND AUTHENTICITY
DESCRIPTION:Want some laughter\, learning\, and lagers? \nLook no further…  \nThe Museum of Art l Fort Collins is running a unique community experience: \n– Tons of games and exercises to unlock authentic creativity\n– Up to 29 other open-minded\, positive people to meet\n– 2 free passes to the MoA’s MASKS exhibit\n– 2 hours of uproarious belly laughs\n– 1 open bar (yes\, really!) \n** Use code “special20” for a discount ** \nCome build soft skills with hard laughs. TICKET LINK HERE \nP.S. Don’t let the word “improv” scare you away. \n– No one is put on the spot\n– No one is needs to be funny\n– No one is performing publicly. \nGus has run sessions like these for years and knows what you’re thinking. So here’s a quick FAQ to answer any questions you have. \nFAQ. \nWho’s Gus?\nGus has been teaching improv for over 9 years. He used to run a 350+ improv community out in Morrisville\, North Carolina. He’s taught 1000s of students and performs locally in Fort Collins with his troupe\, Scam Likely. \nWhat can I expect from attending a session?\nThis beginner-friendly workshop will be 90-120 minutes consisting of short exercises\, warm-ups\, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” type-of games. \nWhat if I’m not quick on my feet?\nYou don’t have to be. In improv\, mistakes become opportunities. The bolder the choice\, the better. You will be celebrated for not being quick on your feet. \nI’m scared.\nGive it one session. Anything worth doing is initially scary. I like to say “You’ve already done the hardest part: fighting traffic to get here. It’s my responsibility as an instructor to make sure the rest of the night goes smoothly for you.” \nI don’t want to perform publicly.\nThis will not be public. This will be a private session. This is “Improv in Private” – where you practice the skills\, just not on stage.

SUMMARY:New Headquarters & Earth Day showing of The Lorax presented by Compost Queen
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth Day with a showing of “The Lorax (2012)” at The Lyric theater\, presented by Compost Queen! \n\n\n\nThis family friendly showing is only $8 and helps Compost Queen mark the grand opening of their new headquarters in Fort Collins. \n\n\n\n\n\nCompost Queen\, a leading advocate for sustainable waste management\, is proud to announce the grand opening of its newest facility and headquarters in Fort Collins\, Colorado at 1505 North College Avenue\, home of Back Gate Farm. This milestone event marks the fourth location in Fort Collins for Compost Queen and a significant step forward in the company’s mission to provide local composting solutions for the Northern Colorado community. \n\n\n\nCompost Queen\, a woman-owned Public Benefit Corporation\, is dedicated to reducing organic waste\, minimizing emissions\, and enhancing soil health. With a strong focus on education\, innovation\, and community engagement\, Compost Queen aims to create a future where composting is seamlessly integrated into daily life\, powering the circular economy and closing the carbon cycle. \n\n\n\nThe new headquarters\, strategically located in Fort Collins\, aligns with recent updates in Colorado laws for conditionally exempt small quantity facilities for food waste. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology\, including the innovative Covered Aerated Static Pile (CASP) technology from Sustainable Generations\, the facility can efficiently process organic waste while controlling odors and producing high-quality soil amendments. This expanded capacity enables Compost Queen to serve both residential and commercial accounts\, furthering its impact in waste diversion and environmental sustainability. \n\n\n\nThe development of the new facility was made possible in part by a grant from the Front Range Waste Diversion (FRWD) program and expects to divert over 700 tons of material annually from the landfill. This collaboration underscores Compost Queen’s commitment to leveraging partnerships and state initiatives to achieve its climate impact goals and advance towards a zero-waste\, circular economy. \n\n\n\n“We are thrilled to bring our business to North College and serve as an icon of the change we can make to food recycling in Fort Collins\,” said Jamie Blanchard-Poling\, Founder and Chief Queen Officer of Compost Queen. “This facility represents a significant investment in sustainable waste management and underscores our commitment to serving the community while protecting the environment.” \n\n\n\nTo commemorate the occasion\, Compost Queen will host a grand opening event on Sunday\, April 21\, coinciding with Earth Day weekend. The event\, open to Compost Queen food recycling members\, will feature a vendor village showcasing local sustainable goods and community businesses. Attendees can enjoy complimentary food and coffee from Hal’s Coffee\, tour the facility\, and learn about best practices for composting. Additionally\, families are invited to a special screening of “The Lorax” at The Lyric Cinema on Earth Day\, Monday\, April 22\, at 6 PM. \n\n\n\nJoin Compost Queen in celebrating the grand opening of its new headquarters and facility\, and be a part of the movement toward a greener\, more sustainable future. \n\n\n\nFor more information about Compost Queen or to attend the grand opening event\, please contact Max Poling\, Hand of the Queen at (970) 797-2042 or max@compostqueenfc.com

SUMMARY:2024 Fort Collins Chamber Annual Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Continuing the theme Building Community Through Business\, the Chamber will host the 119th Annual Celebration on April 10 at the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland. We are excited and look forward to spending an evening with over 600 Chamber members and others from across Northern Colorado.  We will recognize our 2023 David May Advocacy Award Winner\, our 2023 Volunteer of the Year and our 2023 Collins Award Winner at the event. \nEstablished to honor individuals with a longstanding contribution to our community\, the Collins Award has been a beacon of recognition since its inception in 1977. The Chamber is proud to announce Connie and Doug Dohn\, Dohn Construction as our 2023 Collins Award Winner.  \nFounded in 1992\, Doug and Connie Dohn set out with the desire to change the general contracting industry through valuing clients\, team members\, and subcontractors. It was also their desire to work locally so that their employees could be home with their families each night. What started as a small construction company quickly grew as word spread about Dohn’s philosophy and approach to the construction process. 31 years later Dohn Construction has flourished\, growing to 60 team members and completing over 15 million square feet of projects. \nEstablished to recognize individuals who embody a steadfast commitment to advocating for free enterprise and better communities through sound economic principles. the David May Advocacy Award was named in honor of former Chamber President & CEO David May.   \nThe Chamber is proud to recognize Sharie Grant as our 2023 David May Advocacy Award winner.

RSVP today! \n*This talk is for designers\, developers\, website managers and business owners* \nMORE ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:\nRon Zasadzinski\, founder and CEO at CodeGeek\nRon started CodeGeek in 2002\, and since then\, he and his team have worked with clients all over the U.S. to create custom websites and web apps. \nWhether it’s in business or in life\, Ron’s goal each and every day is to help people be the best they can be\, and he’s passionate about helping make the web more accessible and inclusive for everyone. \nRon is involved in a number of ventures\, including as co-owner of The Hive\, co-founder of the Fort Collins Internet Professionals (FCIP) Meetup\, and a flight instructor with over 30 years and 8000 hours of flying experience. \nIn his free time\, Ron enjoys playing ice hockey\, following the Artemis mission with great interest\, and traveling with his wife to see the many wonders this world has to offer. \nGraden Sikes\, project manager at CodeGeek\nGraden started his career building things in the physical world after earning his B.S. in Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver. Soon thereafter\, he decided to apply his skills in the digital realm as a UX and web designer. \nA very client-oriented person\, Graden enjoys the fast-paced nature of web projects and the direct\, personal impacts they have on people’s lives. \nWhen not clacking away at his keyboard\, you can find Graden watching movies with his wife Lily and (now big) puppy Watson\, playing video games\, and perfecting his deep-dish pizza recipe. \n► Learn more about Ron\, Graden and CodeGeek at: codegeek.net \n* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *\n★ MEET OUR SPONSOR –> Be Inclusive\nAs our Platinum Sponsor for December\, Be Inclusive is covering the cost of pizza and beverages for this meetup! \nBe Inclusive is a web app that helps you define\, track\, and share digital accessibility audits. \n► Learn more about Be Inclusive at: beinclusive.app \n* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *\nINNOSPHERE DETAILS (to attend in-person)\n320 E Vine Dr Suite 101\nFort Collins\, CO 80524\nGoogle Map \n????
