For your talk
Five things that make it land
1
Keep it actionable.
Say at the top what people will walk away knowing.
2
Keep to the 95/5 rule.
95% content, 5% promotion, at most.
3
Show, don't tell.
Give people a question, a reflection, or a short activity so they work the problem themselves.
4
Promote your talk.
Post it on LinkedIn, your blog, and your email list, and tell people to come.
5
Send people to the breaks.
Point questions and follow-up conversations to the networking breaks and to The Commons.

Logistics
Tech in your room
- •Every room has a mounted TV with HDMI, a USB-C hub, and a clicker.
- •Plug your video cable straight into the TV, or plug into the hub. The clicker plugs into the hub.
- •Bring your own laptop, charger, and a backup of your slides on a USB drive or in the cloud.
- •If you are using a microphone, hold it about two inches from your mouth. It can take about five seconds to start working after you turn it on.
- •Put the room back the way you found it, and don't turn anything off.
- •Need tech help? Ask at check-in or Guest Services.
Logistics
On the day
- •Check in when you arrive, then be at your room 20 to 30 minutes early.
- •End on time so the next speaker can set up.
- •Parking at the Senior Center is limited. Rolland Moore Park, off Shields Street, has more, with a 7 to 10 minute walk on a paved path.
- •Rooms can change. Check the schedule the morning of your session.
- •Breathe!
